story
How did we decide to adopt!? It was pretty simple really! While in college the Lord put a desire for adoption in our hearts individually. We weren't even dating then. Proof that God is always at work, even in the smallest of ways.

Fast forward to 2014 and we began dating! Of course, we didn't waste any time talking about what we both wanted for our future. We mention adoption amongst many other things and go on about our lives. We were married in the spring of 2016 and some time passes before we begin discussing the idea of starting our family and what that could look like. We must have talked about adoption a dozen of times and always ended with "But When?".

During 2020 our desire to start a family grew and grew! Our hearts were longing for a child. Our family wasn't beginning naturally so we began praying for God to reveal to us his plan. In the spring of 2021 after much prayer God indeed revealed his plan to us! Through vivid dreams God told us that our time to start our family was now and it would be through adoption!
​
As we shared our dreams with one another we wept with joy in this rediscovery of what God had already placed in our hearts long ago! In fact, the dream Rachel had was one that had occurred nearly three years prior! We laughed as we completely misunderstood the dream
the first time around.
​
We quickly got to work and started searching for the adoption agency we would work with! After talking with a couple in our church who also adopted, we made our decision and began working with Adoption Assistance Inc.
​
By the fall we were Home Study ready and began our fundraising project through Both Hands! Our project was truly such a special day to be a part of! A large group of our closest church friends and family spent a Saturday serving a local widow in our community.
This event jump started our fundraising, and we were "off to the races!".
​
Our journey has been beautiful and hard at the same time. God has drawn us to himself in the most unique of ways. We have been so blessed to be financially ready to "match" with a child for several months now. We truly are just waiting on God to bring us our baby!
​
We have begun working with other agencies to help our efforts in matching. We fully believe God has something so miraculous in store for us. The joy and confidence we hold only comes from him and his faithfulness this far! We cannot wait for the day hundreds of people rejoice with us in this blessing.
